Part 2: Part 2: After Solomon's downfall and death, the kingdom divides into Israel and Judah. As corrupt kings lead the people astray, prophets like Elijah confront the spread of Baal worship.

Part 1: The book begins with the genealogy from Adam to Saul, then highlights David as Israel's ideal king, uniting the tribes, capturing Jerusalem, and returning the Ark of the Covenant.

Part 2: God promises David an everlasting dynasty, pointing to the coming Messiah. Though David does not build the Temple, he prepares everything for its construction, establishing it as the center of Israel's worship.

Part 1: Solomon asks God for wisdom, ushering in a golden age of peace and prosperity marked by the construction and dedication of the Temple. Part 2: The focus shifts to Judah, where faithful kings bring seasons of spiritual reform and blessing. Yet the nation's persistent idolatry leads to Babylon's conquest, the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, and exile. The book closes with hope as Cyrus permits the Jews to return and rebuild the Temple.

As believers, the true church, we are called to: Proclaim the gospel (the great commission), Love God and one another (the great commandment), Serve through ministry, and Preserve the truth.

In 1517 the Protestant Reformation, set in motion by Martin Luther in Wittenberg, Germany sought to restore the authority of Scripture over church tradition and affirm that salvation is God's gift, received by faith alone—not by works or the purchase of indulgences.
